Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically supervised program for people who have experienced a heart attack, heart failure, coronary artery bypass surgery, angioplasty, or other heart-related procedures. The program helps to improve quality of life by reducing symptoms and risks of further heart-related illnesses and events. It includes exercise training, educational sessions, counseling and advice on lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, eating a healthy diet and becoming more active. The aim of cardiac rehabilitation is to give individuals the tools they need to get and stay healthy, while reducing the risk of future heart-related issues. This can result in a significant improvement in long-term health as well as quality of life.
