Survival Analysis
Survival analysis studies the time until the occurrence of an event. It is used in a variety of fields including epidemiology, medicine, economics, engineering, sociology, and psychology. It is used to analyze the time-to-event data such as time until death, time until relapse of a disease, or time until the failure of a mechanical component. It helps to identify factors that influence the length of survival as well as to compare the survival times between two or more groups. It can be used to assess the effectiveness of a treatment or to compare the survival times under different conditions. Additionally, it is used to assess the reliability of components and systems, analyze the duration of customer relationships, and predict whether an event will occur or not in the future. As such, it is an important tool for many data analysis applications.
