Psychological Trauma
Psychological trauma is an emotional or psychological injury caused by an extraordinarily negative or disturbing event. It can cause lasting emotional, cognitive, and physical repercussions that can interfere with a person’s ability to function properly in daily life. Trauma can cause a person to develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, phobias, difficulty functioning, and more. By understanding psychological trauma and its effects, as well as treatment options, we can help those affected by trauma heal, cope, and regain their lives.
