Psychological Disorders
Psychological disorders, also known as mental disorders, are patterns of behavioral or psychological symptoms that impact multiple areas of life such as mood, thinking, and behavior. These disorders create distress for the person experiencing them and can also be disabling. Examples of psychological disorders include depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and eating disorders. Psychological disorders are treatable and interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, and medication can help people manage and improve their symptoms. Improving the understanding of psychological disorders and providing evidence-based treatments can help people lead more fulfilling and successful lives.
