Social Distancing
Social distancing is an important public health measure utilized to reduce the spread of infectious diseases. It includes keeping a physical distance of at least 6 feet apart from other people and avoiding large gatherings, if possible. This mitigation measure is an important tool for preventing disease transmission by reducing the number of close contacts with potential infection sources. It is especially important for people with underlying health conditions or who are elderly, since they are at a higher risk of severe complications from an infection. Social distancing is recommended by the CDC and other public health agencies to help protect public health and reduce the spread of infectious diseases.
