Trabeculoplasty
Trabeculoplasty is a non-invasive laser procedure used to treat open-angle glaucoma. It reduces pressure in the eye by enhancing the natural outflow of fluid from the eye. During the procedure, a hot laser beam is directed onto the trabecular meshwork, the natural drainage system of the eye, recycling the outflow of fluid and thereby reducing the eye pressure. This procedure is used when the eye pressure cannot be adequately managed with medication and can help to improve vision and preserve the eyes. Trabeculoplasty has been shown to be a safe and effective treatment for open-angle glaucoma.
