Toric Intraocular Lens
The Toric Intraocular Lens is a specialized type of intraocular lens (IOL) used in cataract surgery. It is designed and implanted to correct astigmatism, a common vision disorder caused by an irregularly curved cornea. This type of lens is designed to replace the natural crystalline lens in the eye and has the ability to provide a more focused image on the retina. The Toric IOL can improve vision, reduce astigmatism and improve quality of life for patients who have had cataract surgery. In many cases, the Toric IOL can provide sharper vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses. It is increasingly becoming the preferred choice for cataract surgery, and its use has grown significantly in recent years.
