Topical Insulin1

Topical insulin is a medication used to treat diabetes, a chronic condition that causes a person's blood sugar to become too high. It is applied directly to the skin for absorption into the bloodstream, usually on a daily basis. Topical insulin is most commonly used as a basal insulin, meaning that it is used to provide a baseline level of insulin throughout the day, allowing the body to maintain more stable blood sugar levels. This reduces the risk of dangerous hypoglycemia and allows people with diabetes to better manage their condition. Topical insulin also has the advantage of being more convenient than other forms of insulin, as it does not have to be taken orally or prepared and administered through a needle.
