Slt
recombinase Slt recombinase is an enzyme involved in bacterial chromosome segregation which is widely studied and used in synthetic biology. It catalyzes a recombination reaction between two DNA sequence motifs that allows for precise gene editing. This enzyme is used in a variety of molecular techniques aimed to manipulate and control gene expression, such as site-directed mutagenesis and gene knock-outs. Moreover, Slt recombinase is essential in the construction of artificial chromosome vectors and bi-directional gene expression systems. The various applications of this recombinase have made it a powerful tool for biotechnologists and scientists in general.
