Saccades

Saccades are rapid eye movements that occur when looking from one point to another. These movements produce a sudden change in the angle of the eyes' axes, allowing for visual information to be acquired from multiple locations in a short period of time. They are important for allowing us to quickly acquire information from our environment, and are crucial for activities such as navigating through a room, reading a book, or playing sports. Saccades can also be used to measure eye movements, which have diagnostic and research applications in ophthalmology, neurology, and psychology, aiding in the diagnosis of neurological and vision disorders.
