Retinal Diseases
Retinal diseases are conditions that affect the retina- the light-sensing layer of cells at the back of the eye. They can cause vision loss and even blindness. Major types of retinal diseases include diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and retinitis pigmentosa. Early detection and treatment is important in helping to prevent complications in patients with retinal diseases. Common treatments include medications, laser therapy, and surgery.
