Ocular Surface Disease
Ocular Surface Disease is an umbrella term used to describe a set of conditions that affect the health of the eye’s outer surface. It includes a variety of diseases that can cause redness, pain, and/or impaired vision. Commonly occurring chronic conditions include dry eye and allergies, as well as acute issues such as conjunctivitis and blepharitis. Treatment options vary depending on the cause, but may include topical medications, lifestyle changes, and surgical interventions. Proper management is essential for promoting eye health and preventing the progression of the disease.
