NodLike Receptor Pyrin Domain Containing 3 Inflammasome
NodLike Receptor Pyrin Domain Containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is a multi-protein complex. It plays a critical role in the body's innate immune response, contributing to the protection against infections and harmful foreign materials. NLRP3 inflammasome is activated in response to various types of insults, such as bacterial or viral infections, metabolic changes, and damage to the cells. Activation of the inflammasome leads to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and other molecules, which can then target pathogens or damaged cells and protect our body from infection and tissue damage. NLRP3 inflammasome is also involved in diseases such as autoinflammatory diseases and cancer. Understanding the role of NLRP3 inflammasome in the innate immune response and its implications for diseases is critical to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for these conditions.
