Neuroinflammation
Neuroinflammation is a biological process triggered by damage to neurons in the brain or the central nervous system. It is characterized by the activation of glial cells and inflammatory mediators such as cytokines. Its significance lies in the fact that it has been linked to numerous neurological disorders and has been associated with their progression and pathogenetic mechanisms. Since neuroinflammation is involved in a variety of neurological diseases, targeting its pathways is an attractive therapeutic approach for treating these diseases. Furthermore, research into this field holds promise in discovering novel therapeutic modalities for the treatment of neuroinflammatory diseases.
