Incidence

Rate The incidence rate is a measure of the frequency of occurrence of a disease or any other health-related event in a population. It is calculated as the number of new cases of the health problem during a specified time period divided by the size of the population at risk of developing the disease. This measure is useful for comparing the burden of diseases between different populations and for tracking changes in the incidence of a particular health problem over time. In addition, incidence rate data can be used to identify risk factors for certain diseases, and to develop public health strategies for disease prevention and control.
