Idebenone
Idebenone is a synthetic compound which is structurally similar to Coenzyme Q10, an important antioxidant found in the body. It is used as an antioxidant to protect cells from damage caused by free radicals, which can lead to a number of degenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Idebenone has several potential medical uses, such as reducing the effects of aging on cells, preventing cell damage, improving cognitive function in elderly patients, and reducing the symptoms of cognitive disorders. Recent studies suggest that it may also be useful in treating mitochondrial dysfunction and even slowing the progression of Huntington's Disease. Idebenone has significant potential to protect against cellular damage, and its protective effects are currently being studied for potential therapeutic applications.
