Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye disorders that can lead to vision loss and blindness. It is caused by an increase in pressure inside the eye due to an imbalance between fluid production and fluid drainage. The most common symptom of glaucoma is the gradual loss of peripheral vision; however, it can also cause eye pain, redness, and headaches. Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of vision loss and blindness, and is typically diagnosed during an eye exam. Treatment for glaucoma typically involves a combination of medications, laser therapy, and/or surgery. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment of glaucoma can help to slow or prevent vision loss.
