External Eye Disease
External eye disease is a broad term used to refer to any ocular disorder that affects the structures surrounding the eyeball, including the eyelids, conjunctiva and lacrimal apparatus. These disorders can be caused by infections, allergies, physical trauma, or underlying medical conditions such as autoimmune diseases, diabetes and thyroid disease. Treatment of external eye diseases typically involves using prescription ophthalmic drugs, topical medications, and minimally invasive surgery, and can effectively manage the symptoms and reduce the risk of further complications. Early diagnosis and treatment of external eye diseases is important in preventing potential vision loss or permanent damage.
