Dmek
DMek stands for Descemet's Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty. It is a type of eye surgery that is used to treat corneal diseases and conditions such as Fuchs’ dystrophy, bullous keratopathy and corneal edema. During this procedure, a thin layer of donor tissue is transplanted onto the patient's cornea using an eye microscope. The aim of the procedure is to restore the cornea's transparency, allowing light to enter the eye and improve vision. DMek is a minimally invasive procedure and it has a high success rate with minimal risks. It can reduce the need for corneal transplantation and can provide a better quality of vision. It can also help to restore the cornea's form and function, which can reduce painful symptoms associated with corneal diseases.
