Cornea
The cornea is a transparent dome-shaped structure at the front of the eye. It is made up of a group of cells and proteins that forms a protective outer layer over the pupil and iris. It is essential for vision, acting as the front window of the eye and allowing light to enter and be focused on the retina. It also acts as a barrier to protect the eye from dirt, dust and other objects, and it helps to filter ultraviolet light. The cornea is also used in laser eye surgery, transplants and other eye treatments.
