Balloon Test Occlusion
The balloon test occlusion is a medical procedure used to identify and assess the blood flow in an artery. During the procedure, a small balloon is placed in the artery and inflated with a saline solution, temporarily blocking the blood flow. This is important, as it allows doctors to assess the severity of narrowing of the artery, and determine whether further testing or treatment is needed. The balloon test occlusion is a safe and effective diagnostic tool and may be used to detect a number of vascular diseases, including peripheral artery disease, and can also be used to identify aneurysms. In addition, the balloon test occlusion may be used in conjunction with other tests, such as angiocardiography, to provide a more complete picture of the patient’s condition.
