Social Behavior of Animals
Animals exhibit various types of social behaviors that contribute to their survival and overall well-being. These behaviors range from foraging for food and nesting together to protection of young and cooperative hunting techniques. Social behavior in animals includes communication, attraction and bonding, social learning, and the formation of social hierarchies. Through social behavior, animals can improve their chances of finding food and avoiding predators, which ultimately increases their odds of survival. Moreover, studies show that certain aspects of social behavior are shared across species and can help to improve the quality of life of animals in captivity.
