Ecological Immunology

Ecological immunology is a field of study that focuses on the interactions between the environment, host physiology and the immune system. It has helped to explain how natural and human-made changes to the environment can have an effect on the health of individuals. It has also been used to identify the underlying causes of immune-related diseases, such as allergies and autoimmune conditions. Ecological immunology has been integral in the development of treatments and preventive strategies against these conditions, and is an essential part of public health policy and research efforts.
