Nematology
Nematology is the scientific study of nematodes, a group of invertebrates that are among the most abundant animals on Earth. Nematology encompasses a wide range of topics including taxonomy, physiology, ecology, behaviour, genetics, and evolution. Nematodes are also important as they can cause diseases in plants, animals and humans, and can be used as biological control agents in pest control. The study of nematology is important for the understanding of the diversity and evolution of organisms and ecosystems, as well as the detection and prevention of diseases, and the development of pest control measures.
