Arachnology
Arachnology is the scientific study of spiders and related arachnids, such as scorpions, mites, and ticks. The field of arachnology covers the behavior, ecology, physiology, morphology, genetics, and other aspects of arachnids. Arachnology is often used in the management of arachnid pest species, in research related to the control of vector-borne diseases, and in the development of new drugs and medical treatments. Arachnology is significant in understanding the natural history of organisms and our impact upon them, particularly in the context of conservation biology. Additionally, arachnology plays a role in informing public policy decisions and helping to ensure the sustainability of our planet's diverse and fragile ecosystems.
