Social Support
for mental health Social support is an important factor for mental health and overall wellbeing. It involves interacting with others to elicit a sense of belonging and increase our sense of self-worth. Social support can come from friends, family, coworkers, or even strangers and can take many forms, including emotional support, material support, information, and encouragement. By increasing our access to social support, we can reduce our stress levels, provide us with a greater sense of purpose, and improve our overall mental health. Social support can be used to reduce the risk of developing mental illnesses, as well as provide support and comfort to those already living with mental health problems.
