Restraint Eating
Restraint eating is a type of eating behaviour commonly seen in those who desire to lose weight. It involves restricting food intake and controlling eating habits in order to manage body weight. This type of eating behaviour has been shown to be associated with reduced body weight and improved overall health. Restraint eating may also have psychological benefits, as it can reduce feelings of guilt, anxiety and depression related to overeating. Additionally, it can help to establish healthy eating habits, as well as providing an emotionally regulated alternative to binge eating. Restraint eating can be beneficial to both physical and mental health, although it is important to recognise that excessive restriction can lead to potential health issues and disordered eating behaviours.
