Intuitive Eating
Intuitive eating is an evidence-based approach to managing eating and health behaviors. It is a non-diet approach to developing a healthy relationship with food, body, and mind. Intuitive eating helps people become aware of their physical and emotional sensations associated with eating and to use those as cues to make food choices. It also encourages people to focus on internal hunger and fullness cues rather than external cues such as food rules or dieting. By embracing intuitive eating, people can learn to trust their bodies and eat what their body needs without feeling guilt or anxiety. Intuitive eating has been associated with improved psychological health, nutritional adequacy, body appreciation, and decreased disordered eating behavior. It is an effective way to promote health and well-being.
