Interpersonal Therapy
Interpersonal therapy (IPT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps people understand and work through current life challenges and their relationships with others. Characterized by its emphasis on understanding how people interact with one another, IPT is intended to improve interpersonal functioning, mood, and communication skills. IPT is a useful treatment for a variety of mental illnesses and disorders such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and posttraumatic stress disorder. Research has consistently shown that IPT is an effective therapy for individuals struggling with mental health issues and that it can bring about significant and lasting changes in interpersonal functioning.
