Female Binge Eating
Disorder Female Binge Eating Disorder (F-BED) is a psychological eating disorder that predominantly affects women. Sufferers experience excessive and uncontrollable episodes of eating large amounts of food in a short period of time, often of high-calorie content, and these episodes are closely linked with feelings of guilt, distress, and shame. F-BED is linked with an increased risk of obesity, low self-esteem and other physical and mental health issues. Treatment of F-BED requires a multidisciplinary approach, including therapy, nutritional counseling, and medication. Early diagnosis and intervention for F-BED can reduce the risk of long-term health complications and help to improve quality of life.
