Eating Pathology
Eating pathology is the scientific study and diagnosis of abnormal eating behaviors and patterns. It focuses on diagnosing, understanding, and treating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and other eating disorders. Eating pathology is important for understanding and treating eating disorders, which can be incredibly damaging to people's physical and mental health. Eating pathology can also help people recognize disordered eating patterns that are not yet classified as eating disorders, such as frequent dieting or a preoccupation with food, allowing those individuals to get the help they need. Early intervention is often important in successful treatment of eating disorders, and eating pathology increases the chances of that.
