Eating Dysregulation
Eating Dysregulation is a term used to describe a wide range of eating problems and behaviours, such as binge-eating, overeating, restricting food intake and emotional eating. It is a serious problem which can have a negative impact on overall health and wellbeing. Eating dysregulation can lead to long-term medical complications, and can also interfere with an individual’s ability to lead a fulfilling and productive life. Research has shown that a range of factors may contribute to the development of dysregulated eating, including biological, psychological and environmental influences. Treatment for eating dysregulation usually involves a combination of psychotherapy, medication and lifestyle changes, with the aim of resolving underlying issues and restoring healthy eating patterns.
