Eating Disorders
Eating disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by abnormal or disturbed eating behaviors, thoughts, and feelings related to food. These disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Eating disorders are associated with significant physical and psychological complications, and can even be life-threatening. Treatment often involves counseling, nutritional therapy, and medication, and is most effective when tailored to the unique needs of the individual affected. Proper diagnosis and treatment are essential to recovery and improving the quality of life of those who live with eating disorders.
