Bulimia Nervosa

Bulimia Nervosa is an eating disorder characterized by frequent episodes of binge eating and subsequent compensatory behaviors such as self-induced vomiting, excessive exercise, or the misuse of medication and non-food substances like laxatives. Sufferers of Bulimia Nervosa often experience feelings of shame, guilt, and low self-esteem. The long-term psychological and physical effects of Bulimia Nervosa can be serious and even life-threatening. Treatment for Bulimia Nervosa may include medication, psychotherapy, and dietary changes. With proper treatment, it is possible to successfully manage symptoms, improve one’s quality of life, and reduce the risk of further health complications.
