Microbiota
Microbiota is a term used to refer to the variety of microorganisms that live in our body, primarily in our guts. These microorganisms are extremely important for our health and well-being, as they can help us digest food, synthesize vitamins, combat disease-causing pathogens, and regulate our immune system. Due to their importance, microbiota has become an area of intense research in the biomedical field and the development of treatments and probiotic-based health interventions are being explored. Additionally, microbiota is thought to play a role in metabolic diseases, allergies, and even autoimmune diseases.
