Neuropsychiatry

Neuropsychiatry is a field of study that deals with the interface between psychiatry and neurology. It is a subspecialty of medicine that focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders, which are conditions that affect both the mental and neurological functioning of a person. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought neuropsychiatry to the forefront of our attention, as researchers and healthcare providers alike seek to understand and treat the neuropsychiatric symptoms that have been reported in patients with the virus. Some of these symptoms include depression, anxiety, PTSD, delirium, and other cognitive impairments. Neuropsychiatry is a complex field that requires an interdisciplinary approach, involving psychiatrists, neurologists, neuropsychologists, and other healthcare professionals. Treatment options may include medication, psychotherapy, rehabilitation, or a combination of these approaches. With the emergence of COVID-19, neuropsychiatry has become an even more critical field of study. As the virus continues to spread around the world, it is likely that more people will begin to experience neuropsychiatric symptoms, either as a direct result of the virus or as a reaction to the stress and anxiety caused by the pandemic. As the international journal of coronaviruses, we aim to promote research on this topic, highlighting the latest developments in neuropsychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in the context of COVID-19. By shining a light on this critical area of medicine, we hope to contribute to the efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and improve our understanding of the neuropsychiatric consequences of this disease.
