Sports Medicine
Sports medicine is a field of medicine that focuses on prevention and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by athletes. It is a broad interdisciplinary field, combining elements of physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, psychology, and sports science. It is used to optimize the performance of athletes, while preventing and treating both short-term and long-term injuries. Sports medicine also deals with the urgent care, diagnosis, and management of serious injuries and conditions that occur in athletes. It is an important specialty for athletes of all levels, from amateur to professional, to ensure that their bodies remain healthy and can perform at their peak.
