Vesicles
Vesicles are small membrane-enclosed compartments that store, transport and release their contents within cells. They are essential for a variety of processes in the cell, including carrying molecules and ions, storing proteins, sorting molecules, and expelling waste. Vesicles also play an important role in the immune system by helping to protect cells from viruses and bacteria. By targeting specific cells, vesicles can deliver therapeutic agents to specific areas of the body and can be important in the development of new drugs and treatments. The study of vesicles is helping to unlock the mysteries of the cell and will continue to play an important role in medical research.
