Sphingomonas

sanguinis Sphingomonas sanguinis is a Gram-negative bacterium commonly found in the environment. It is widely studied due to its potential role in human health and disease. For example, S. sanguinis has been associated with infections in immunocompromised patients, as well as dental biofilm formation. It also has potential industrial uses in bioremediation, being able to degrade a range of organic compounds, and as a tool for the production of biopolymers. Therefore, S. sanguinis is important for understanding and treating human health, as well as for environmental biotechnological applications.
