Neuroimmunology

Neuroimmunology is the scientific study of the interactions between the immune system and the nervous system. It deals with the bidirectional communication between the two systems, and how communication between them affects health and disease. Neuroimmunology has become increasingly important in understanding a wide range of neurological diseases, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury and multiple sclerosis. In addition, it has contributed insights to other medical conditions, such as chronic pain and cognitive dysfunction. Neuroimmunology research is leading to treatments for a variety of neurological disorders, offering new hope to those suffering from these conditions.
