Enterobacteriaceae

The Enterobacteriaceae are bacteria from the family Enterobacteriaceae, found in humans, animals and plants. They are commonly found in the human gastrointestinal tract and are important for digestion and stomach health. Enterobacteriaceae are also used in a variety of industrial and biotechnology processes, to produce food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and other products. Its medical importance is due to its ability to cause a variety of infections, including urinary tract infections, blood and wound infections, and pneumonia. Its epidemiology is crucial, since Enterobacteriaceae can be transmitted through food, water, and physical contact, and research on vaccines and therapeutic treatments is essential for its control.
