Cancer Immunology
Cancer immunology is a sub-field of immunology that focuses on the interactions between the immune system and cancer cells. The aim of this field is to understand how the immune system recognizes and responds to cancer, and to develop immune-based strategies to fight cancer. By gaining a better understanding of the immune system’s responses to cancer, scientists and doctors can develop more effective treatments to target cancer cells and reduce their spread. Cancer immunology techniques can also help to identify vulnerable populations who might be more likely to develop cancer, providing a basis for early diagnosis and tailored prevention and treatment plans.
