Bacteroides
Bacteroides are a type of bacteria commonly found in the human gut. They are important for human health as they help to break down complex carbohydrates and proteins which would otherwise not be digested effectively. Bacteroides also help to maintain a healthy balance of the gut microbiota, which is important for digestion and overall health. Additionally, they produce essential vitamins and fatty acids that benefit the human body. Bacteroides are now being studied as potential probiotics to treat certain gastrointestinal diseases and disorders, as well as to enhance the absorption of certain drugs.
