Chemotherapy for Bladder Cancer
Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses one or more anti-cancer drugs to kill cancer cells. When used in the treatment of bladder cancer, chemotherapy medicines are instilled directly into the bladder or taken by mouth or injection. The drug is effective at killing cancer cells and helps to reduce tumor size. It can be used in combination with surgery, radiation therapy and other treatments. The goal of chemotherapy is to decrease the risk of recurrence and improve survival rates. By destroying cancer cells, chemotherapy can also reduce the spread of cancer to other parts of the body.
