Antimicrobial Agents

Antimicrobial agents are substances used to kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi. By preventing the growth of these harmful organisms, they are able to protect humans, animals, and plants from infection, illness, and disease. Antimicrobial agents are used in a variety of ways, including in pharmaceuticals and medical treatments, as well as in food products, water supplies, agricultural production, and more. These agents are also used to reduce the incidence of food spoilage and to create cleaner, safer environments. As a result, antimicrobial agents are an essential component of contemporary health and hygiene standards.
