Wnt Signaling Cascade

The Wnt signaling cascade is an important cellular pathway that regulates numerous cellular processes such as polarity, cell growth and differentiation. It is an important part of the body’s normal growth and development, but it can also be implicated in cancer and other diseases. Wnt signaling is triggered when a cell receives a signal from the extracellular environment. This signal is then passed through a series of protein molecules, allowing for the cell to interpret the signal and carry out the appropriate action. Wnt signaling can be manipulated for therapeutic purposes, such as for the treatment of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, or for regenerative medicine. It is also used to study basic cellular processes such as cell cycle regulation and stem cell biology.
