Sperm Chemotaxis

Sperm chemotaxis is the movement of sperm cells towards a chemical stimulus. This process is essential for successful fertilization, as sperm need to find the egg in order to reproduce. Sperm cells are able to sense attractive molecules in the female reproductive tract and swim towards them, enabling them to find and fertilize the egg. This ability is crucial for reproduction in animals and it has been studied in species such as fruit flies, mice, and humans.
