Respirometry
Respirometry is a technique used to measure metabolism and energy use in biological organisms. It typically involves measuring the consumption of oxygen or the production of carbon dioxide over time in a sealed environment. This measurement can help to understand the physiological processes of an organism, as well as provide insights into the effects of diet, exercise, and certain treatments. Respirometry can also be used to measure the efficiency of a production process, such as fermentation in brewing. As such, it has both research and commercial applications.
