Fc Receptors
Fc receptors (FcRs) are proteins on the surface of cells that play an essential role in the immune system. They are able to recognize and bind to the Fc portion of immunoglobulins, including immunoglobulin G (IgG). FcRs are involved in the activation of various immune cells, such as those involved in immune response and inflammation, and in the clearance of pathogens and other undesired material. Furthermore, FcRs have been found to play a role in autoimmune diseases and cancer. FcRs have been used in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including therapeutic antibodies, bispecific antibodies, and other biologics designed to target specific diseases. Understanding the mechanisms of FcRs has great implications for the development of novel therapeutics, as well as for improving existing therapeutic strategies.
