Cytotoxic t Cells
Cytotoxic T cells are a type of white blood cell that play an important role in the immune system. They are responsible for recognizing and destroying cells that have been infected by pathogenic invaders, such as viruses and bacteria. They carry out their function through recognizing antigens presented on the surface of the infected cells and releasing chemicals that cause the cells to die. Cytotoxic T cells are crucial for keeping our bodies safe and healthy by preventing the spread of infections. They are also important in identifying and eliminating cancerous cells which may have developed in the body. By doing so, they play a pivotal role in the prevention and treatment of numerous diseases.
